Upcoming function in Writing Outliner Software: Check For Updates

Posted in: Outliner Software, Version History by Edwin on February 11, 2011

I’ve just added the “check for updates” function to Writing Outliner – the ultimate outliner software for writers who use MS Word.

In the upcoming version of Writing Outliner software you’ll be able to open a web page to check if a new version is available for download, with just one click.

The following is an example of the checking result when you have the latest version installed already. If you don’t, a Download button will be shown in the webpage .

    Dear Edwin,
Thank you for your great efforts. I just have two questions:
1- When is the new version going to be released?
2- Is it possible to handle the issue of Arabic characters not appearing properly in tags , corkboard..etc..? I would highly recommend the product for many researchers registered in the database of our site if this is possible..

    Thank you very much..

  2. Hi Ali,

I’ll release the new version in the first half of this month, I was planning to get it out by the end of the last month, but it was impacted by the Gmail data loss event happened at the end of last month – as you might already know, I’ve got another product called Gmail Keeper which backs up Gmail and labels to local disk, and it has been gaining much much more interests since that event and I’ve been very busy with it.

Re the Arabic character display problem in the tags, I’ll fix it in the future version. I will take some time, though.

    Hi, Edwin,

Will the new version be released soon? Your last message said first half of this month. Hope all is well.

  4. Hi Guys

Sorry for the delay again, tomorrow I’ll post screenshots for the new ‘export entire project to folder’ function, and I expect the new version will out by the end of this month, everything is well except that I’m behind my schedule.
