New Screenshots of Writing Outliner Word addin

Posted in: Book writing software by Edwin on December 31, 2009

Well, I’m moving into a new home this week and the development of Writing Outliner is a little behind the schedule, so I thought I should postpone posting the new Screenshots of Writing Outliner Add-in for Microsoft Wordβ„’, but as you can see in the Comments section of my previous post MuppetGate has been keen on this software project, so I think I’d keep my promise πŸ˜‰ Β So I post two new quick screenshots of Writing Outliner Word addin here, more details will come next month or so.

Just created a new writing project in Microsoft Wordβ„’ 2003 with Writing Outliner installed.

Microsoft Wordβ„’ with Writing Outliner installed and with a book writing project opened. On the left is the Project Manager where you outline and navigate your long documents, on the right is your familiar Word editor window:

    Looks fantastic! … πŸ˜€
    Nice work. I’m curious though: what’s in the Doc properties on the right?
    Thanks for posting the screen shots … πŸ˜€
    I think you’re onto a winner here.

  2. Hi MuppetGate,

    I’m glad that you like it πŸ™‚

    The Doc Properties pane is where you write synopsis which serves as a writing guideline for the current document (a chapter or so), tag the current document, etc.

    Hi,

    Great graphical interface you have there. Welldone!
    One question, “Word editor window” (or “Second viewer” as you named it on the pics), will it be having the usual Word’s ruler, paragraph etc. features or will it be featured as a type of “What You See Is What You MEAN” programs (e.g. LyX)?

    Thanks again πŸ™‚

  6. @MuppetGate,
    It seems that you have a good understand of this Writing Outliner project πŸ˜‰

    @Shantesh,
    Sure, Writing Outliner will support all versions of Microsoft Wordβ„’

    @Orkhan,
    The “Word editor window” is the Word’s original document window and you can use it as usual. The ‘Second viewer’, I’m planning to make it read-only, because it’s main purpose is to allow reading research files, notes or listing to recording when writing. What do you think?

    Thank you for asking, I’ve not yet decided the pricing. What’s your idea anyhow?
