Hi Orkhan,

Thank you for asking and this is really one of the motivations of this project ;)

While there is no way the current development version will cause whole system crash (Word crash, maybe), it's not ready for a public beta test yet. Please understand that such a version will cause more additional work than a ready version do, so in the long run I'm afraid it will slow down the whole development, so, I'll try my best ;)

Hi Edwin,

It migth be a sign of impatience, but what if you give us whatever you have already? :)))
Promise not to blame even if the whole Windows system crashes (which is doubtful).

Hi FS,

I'm glad that you like the idea, let's thank Keith for this great idea. Yes, the corkboard feature that will give you big picture of the whole writing project will be added to Writing Outliner for Word, but at a later stage.

Hi Edwin,

I just found your website and project. Scrivener for Windows? Yessss! This could be the answer to my prayers.

Actually it looks like Word 2010 will have some of the functionality we book writers are after, but I want that corkboard function! Your add-in will have that, right? It is crucial to be able to get that "bird's eye view" of the whole project.

I hope you've settled comfortably into your new home! Keep up the good work!

Okay, then you probably should think about an autosave so that stuff doesn't get lost. Authors will get really annoyed if they lose their stuff!

Hi MuppetGate,

From the user's perspective the project is a single file in the disk, but internally each pieces of the project is stored as separated chunks of data in the project file, in case of a Word corruption only the unsaved modification will be lost, and the rest of the project data will be kept intact, this is guaranteed because Word will not save content directly into the project file but only save to a cache.

Hope it helps.

Are you going to store the project as one big document or smaller files that can be retrieved if/when Word decides to corrupt them?
