Microsoft Word Addin for Writers!

   I'm new to Writing Outliner. I've been a happy Scrivener for Windows user for a while, with one minor exception. I found W/O in hopes that my one issue might be resolved.

   I do all my raw writing on an Android tablet. There, I have a number of different apps that can edit and save in MS Word format. Of course, there isn't the lovely organization of Writing Outliner or Scrivener, but raw writing is linear and focused on a single document anyway. The problem is getting access to that single document. I've found that Writing Outliner hides all the files in a single database, so I'm out of luck. Or am I? That's my question to the group. With Scrivener, I was a little closer to the goal as the individual files are stored in a folder structure and accessible, but they are RTFs and I can't find an RTF editor app for Android. So, in both cases, I'm left with writing in a stand-alone Word document and later copying its contents into the structured manuscript.

   Any ideas would be appreciated.

   P.S. I'm really looking forward to testing out Writing Outliner. The marriage of MS Word with Organization is a widely-useful tool. I see as much use for it for report-writing at work as I do for my novel(s).

   @Kseniya,

   Yes, a Writing Outliner project is a SQLITE database which stores all documents of a project. However, Writing Outliner allows you export an individual document from a project to disk, which can be copied to and edited on an Android device, and you can re-import the edited document back to a Writing Outliner project. Does this fulfill your need?

   That works. In fact, that's what I'm doing now. It is inconvenient and runs the risk of version control issues. However, it's not a system flaw -- more a request for a new feature. Building entire mobile versions of the software is a tall order. If the guts of the project were exposed, then any word processor would be able to work directly on the source documents, albeit without organization. Then the more formal organizational work could be done back at a proper computer. Another alternative might be a sync feature of some sort, like a monitored folder on dropbox.

   Wishful thinking, I know! Is there any hope for this?

   @Kseniya, yes, there is a hope for this. There are other people who want the document of a given project to be stored in a specified folder (a subfolder in Dropbox, for example).

   The new development plan (read my blog) will make this possible since the documents will be stored in real folders in your computer.

   Thank you! This is great and promising news. In fact, it's the first such promising news for any similar software that would finally let me work on my entire novel on my tablet. I'm looking forward to the new release.
